Britt Robertson isn't "even a little bit talented" at applying her own make-up.
The American actress is famed for her roles in Dan in Real Life, The Tenth Circle,Avalon High and Scream 4. Since appearing in a range of movies, Britt has attended many red carpet events.
However, the 21-year-old star is none the wiser when it comes to beauty and style.
"I'm not even a little bit talented at the red-carpet make-up thing, but recently I did learn how to give myself dramatic-looking eyes and how to contour my cheekbones," she revealed.
Although Britt is laid back when it comes to her day-to-day beauty regime, she does love her on-screen transformations. The stunning star can't believe how make-up and hair styling can alter the look of someone so radically.
"I'm very low-maintenance, but I had to get bangs and extensions for The First Time," she explained in an interview with Teen Vogue.
"I'd never looked that glamorous before - and I felt like a completely different person!"
Britt is a self-confessed "tomboy". However, she makes sure she takes care of her skin when she's partaking in outdoor pursuits.
"I'm very fair, so when I'm hitting the waves, I always wear sunblock. For every day, I really like Murad skin-care products," she said.
As for her every day cosmetic essentials, Britt loves Maybelline New York mascara and says that "drugstore mascaras are the best".

Updates From Blair’s Royal Wedding! First Look at Michelle Tractenberg’s Gossip Girl Return [PHOTO]
Wednesday, November 9, was a BIG day on the Gossip Girl set, as members of the cast assembled at St. James Church in NYC for the wedding to end all weddings!
While only the extended cast was seen in costume ― tuxes on Cyrus and Blair’s Dad, Harold! Penelope in a dress and heels! ― Leighton Meester (Blair), Blake Lively (Serena), Penn Badgley (Dan) and, yes, Ed Westwick (Chuck) were all spotted entering and exiting the church throughout the day!
Apparently this royal wedding is coming whether we like it or not!
But what’s this? Perhaps an unwanted guest?? Yep, rumored attendee Michelle Trachtenberg (Georgina Sparks) was also there... dressed as an altar girl! WHAT? Our heads are spinning too! We got our hands on the first on-set pic of that, and we’re dying to know what all it will entail. Perhaps Georgina feels indebted to Dan and conspires to ruin Blair’s wedding so his true love can be his??? Or, maybe Georgina is just up to her usual wickedness in service of her own ends! That lady...

The Secret Circle Scoop: There Are Two of Them?! What's Next?
[Warning: This story contains spoilers from the midseason finale of The Secret Circle.]
The Secret Circle's midseason finale dropped one heck of a bomb: Cassie (Britt Robertson) is not the only kin of John Blackwell within the coven.
While the obvious answer points to Faye (Phoebe Tonkin) also being the offspring of the mysterious Blackwell — since we learned her mother Dawn (Natasha Henstridge) had an obsession with him — executive producer Andrew Miller says we'll have to wait awhile to find out which coven member is Cassie's half-sister ... or brother!
7 quick spoilers from The Secret Circle's midseason finale
"Jake knows the existence of such a child, but the emergence of the second Blackwell offspring will be revealed in due course," Miller says, noting that there's a good chance Chris Zylka will be back on the show to provide that information.
Having a second child of Blackwell within the circle is a far cry from the original L.J. Smith novels the series is based on. Couple that with the series killing off coven member Nick (Louis Hunter) so quickly, it seems the producers are trying to distance themselves from the books, but Miller says that's not the case. "In a weird way, in the next chunk [of episodes] we're almost embracing the books more. We can't follow the books as a road map because it's so different. On the horizon, the books have amazing relationships and dynamics that we're going to reach for."
Miller notes that one of the upcoming major similarities will come in the secret of the kids' pasts. "There's history there about [the] kids being born in the same year that we'll start to explore," he says. "That's one answer we'll find that's similar to the books."
The Secret Circle's Britt Robertson dishes on the mystery of John Blackwell
The mystery of who John Blackwell is will begin to unfold as well. "[Blackwell]'s a complicated figure, but we'll get into a little more of his background and exactly what happened to him as we continue," Miller says, noting that they'd love for The Secret Circle's enigma to have a big impact like Klaus (Joseph Morgan) does on The Vampire Diaries. "They're similar in that if John Blackwell existed in our world ... he would be someone that has a long plan and has had a long plan, not dissimilar to Klaus. Certainly the impact that Klaus has, which is so fun to watch, were someone to come along to our show like that, it would be fun to have that."
Pointing to the obvious answer that Faye is the coven member related to Blackwell, Miller notes that she will begin to explore ways to obtain her own magic. "Faye has wanted her own individual magic from the get-go," he says. "The idea that Cassie is the one who has this opportunity is infuriating. ... It will drive her more to seek out alternative ways to separate herself from the group and find power on her own, which will probably have terrible consequences on other people."
Can The Secret Circle's new bad boy go good?
As for what happened 16 years ago, which claimed the lives of many of the coven's parents, and apparently John Blackwell, too, Miller says they're considering using flashbacks as a device to tell that story. "We do need to delve into this backstory and we are exploring ways to experience that past in what I think are really exciting and interesting ways in the very near future. Pretty soon on the heels of the new year, we'll start to see more of the past than we've seen thus far."
The Secret Circle returns with fresh episodes on Thursday, Jan. 5 at 9/8c on The CW.
Ed Westwick & Leighton Meester's "Gossip Girl" Workday
Kicking off another day on the job, Ed Westwick and Leighton Meester were spotted filming scenes for “Gossip Girl” in New York City today .
The CW costars both looked to be having a good time as they chatted with each other in between takes on location outdoors in Manhattan.
And coming up November 7th, “Gossip Girl” returns with an all new episode !
Per the show’s official website, “In the midst of celebrating Yom Kippur with family and friends, Blair and Louis (guest star Hugo Becker) find themselves in a power struggle with Louis' family. Serena's boss (guest star Michael Michele) puts Serena in the awkward position of choosing between her new job and her relationship with Dan. Diana (Hurley) prepares to debut the New York Spectator, but an unfortunate last-minute surprise delays the launch and Diana expects Nate to do whatever it takes to save the day.”
'Secret Circle' star Britt Robertson: 'Cassie definitely grows a pair in this episode'
Tonight's (Nov. 3) episode of "The Secret Circle" has all the delicious ingredients of a perfect horror flick: A stormy night, an unfamiliar cabin, a bottle of whiskey, a game of truth or dare, a terrifying bathtub scene, good-looking, unsuspecting teenagers... and, most importantly, a traitor amongst them.
It's basically a recipe for awesome.
As we learned last week, sweet little Cassie Blake has powers even she doesn't know about, and her "dark magic" is definitely a point of interest for the new bad-boy in town, Jake, who has joined the Circle's road trip this week. We spoke with Zap2it fave Britt Robertson about this latest development, and she dished that Cassie's dark side would definitely bring her closer to Jake.
"The more she tries to find out about this dark sort of magic that she has within her, the stronger that magic will get, so it'll be fun to see her go through this new evil place," Britt says. "It'll only make the relationship with Jake stronger, and I think that'll create a new, fun dynamic."
Jake certainly has a devious agenda while he's in Chance Harbor, but Britt tells us that she thinks that in upcoming episodes, he warms up to Cassie and begins to reconsider his whole anti-witch platform.
"I'm a girly chick, so I'm like, 'No, he loves her! He said himself, he loves her!'" she says when we ask whether Jake's flirtation with Cassie is genuine. "I think there's something real. Initially, he came into the Circle, and he was trying to get rid of us, basically, but now as he's starting to get to know us, he's realizing that we're not trying to do bad, we're trying to make good out of a bad situation. We're trying to take on these powers that have been passed down to us, and do good with them. I think he's realizing that and is starting to fall for Cassie a little bit. Maybe I'm mistaken and maybe I'm a fool just like Cassie is, but I think it's something real. I'm sticking to that!"
Maybe it's the fact that the darkness within her has been awakened, but we're about to Cassie with cojones. "Cassie definitely grows a pair in this episode," Britt teases. "In the truth or dare game she decides to go and kiss Jake. It's no matter if Faye gets jealous or annoyed by it, Cassie doesn't care, she just does it."
Spoiler alert: Faye does get jealous, and Faye does get annoyed.
"It only gets worse as the episode progresses. It finally comes to a big head at the end of the episode - I'll let you watch it and see, but their relationship certainly takes a turn for the interesting. It's a really cool episode, and I'd like to say, people keep saying 'It's the best episode!' but it's really an episode that showcases Phoebe [Tonkin], and she just knocks it out of the park. She's incredible."
For his part, Chris Zylka tells us that even as the relationship between Cassie and Jake deepens, his connection to Faye remains important. "The feelings between Jake and Faye never really go away, but maybe the feelings were a bit misconstrued," he laughs. "I've talked with the producers and writers about it, because he can't just hate her that bad after she's given him so much."
In fact, even as Adam's suspicions grow, it's Faye who really has Jake's number. "They grew up together and they've known each other forever," Chris says. "They were really close as kids, and even more than the romantic level of everything, it's Faye that sees what's really troubling him, but she doesn't quite know how to put her finger on it. That makes her really uneasy because she has always been able to put her finger on exactly what is wrong with Jake and what's going on in his head. He needs someone to say 'Hey, are you okay?' and Faye is going to be that person."
When we spoke with Chris, we were impressed by his involvement with developing the character -- and Britt tells us that's no farce. "He's so dedicated. It's so funny; he'll show up to work even on days when he's not working because he just likes to hang out," she laughs. "He's great for morale, he's enjoying being here, and we're really lucky to have him."
Tune in to "The Secret Circle" Thursday nights at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
