Pilot Season Lingo Guide (Including the ‘Scary’ Second Position), Plus a List of Picked-Up Pilots

Written and executive-produced by David Kohan and Max Mutchnick, and to be directed by sitcom vet James Burrows, Partners follows two architects — Charlie is straight, Louis gay — whose friendship has lasted longer than either of their romantic relationships and almost seems like a weird marriage. When Charlie decides to propose to his girlfriend, Louis’ neurotic attempts to be supportive nearly result in the breakup of his own relationship.

Bush, who represents the pilot’s first piece of casting, will play Charlie’s soon-to-be-fiancée, our sister site Deadline reports. The actress wrapped filming on The CW’s Tree Hill back in November, with the series finale airing this spring.

CBS’ other comedy pilot orders for this winter include Friend Me (about two Indiana guys who move to L.A. to work for Groupon), a rom-com from Greg Malins and Greg Berlanti and starring JoAnna Garcia (Reba), Super Fun Night (starring Bridesmaids scene-stealer Rebel Wilson), and a multi-cam project being penned by Louis CK
